Devon
is located in South West England and offers a large variety of
diving opportunities. It has become a very popular holiday resort
for diving. There are easy shore and drift dives for novices and
the less adventurous diver. The more experienced divers can enjoy
the many wrecks the Devon coastline boasts, from
the easily accesible to the more challenging ones. The
marine life is abundant and in summer encounters with
the basking shark are frequent.

In the Brixham area there are nice shore dives
and lots of wrecks to explore including the famous
Galicia and Bretagne wrecks.
Exeter's dive sites range from easy ones like
Babbacombe and Budleigh beach to the more challenging
ones. Wreck lovers can dive the HMS Empress
of India and Lord Steward among others.
Paignton and Torbay are popular and present great
opportunities for novices. There have been sightings of porpoises
and dolphins in summer. The marine life is abundant and
wrecks plentiful.
Plymouth is very popular for its diversity in
dive sites. There are great reefs and wrecks
with a lot of varied marine life.
Popular sites like Eddystone Reef composed of
enormous boulders of granite and walls, Hands Deep and
Hilsea point make some terrific diving in Plymouth.
Teignmouth boasts lots of wrecks, reefs and drift
diving opportunities. Most of the dive sites are more suitable
for advanced divers but there are some interesting dives for novices.
Torquay area has a number of easy shore, reef
dives and some interesting wrecks. These are
the major diving places in Devon. The list of dives here is "inexhaustive"
and there are still wrecks that have not been discovered yet.
